The Auxiliary held our Annual General Meeting at Beban Park on March 27th. Ninety-seven members (of the 220 active volunteers) turned out for the meeting and a wonderful luncheon was put on once again by Spice of Life.
The Auxiliary presented the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital with a record donation of $600,000 this year. These funds will be used to purchase essential hospital equipment and items for patient care and comfort.
This year, the patient comfort items funded include items such as wi-fi services and new transport chairs and beds. Among the equipment being purchased for the hospital this year is a new ultrasound machine for $174,500. This machine will provide much needed support for pregnant women, eliminating the requirement for families to drive to Victoria to obtain the needed service.
