After three years, on October 12th, 2023, The Nanaimo Regional General Hospital officially opened The Gathering Space, a $400,000 project funded by the Auxiliary to provide patients and families with a place to gather, seek comfort, and support each other.
The Gathering Space is a quiet location for all families to enjoy regardless of their religion or faith. It was created so families could gather to support the passing of a loved one, for family meetings or ceremonies, or simply as a place for quiet solitude and comfort.
